Es hora de despertar con Los Sleepers!

Reissued "Zombie" by Los Sleepers - 2005

No, I don't speak Spanish. But, I thought it would be necessary. So, for this issue of DIRTY NOISE, which might I add is the very FIRST and VERY special issue of DIRTY NOISE, we will be listening to one of the most primitive and raw garage bands from the early 60's. Without any further ado, I present to you from Mexico City, Los Sleepers! This gem of an album, originally dubbed "Rock con Los Sleepers", was released in 1961 while most of the Sleepers were still in High School! It features ten of the most well-crafted garage tracks from south of the border, including a spooky cover of Elvis Presley's "Little Sister" (Hermanita), which is what kick started this young bands career. Their hit "Zombie" sounds like something that crawled out of the sewers of Mexico City and took a big dump on Lux Interiors' chest. Almost 45 years later, this album was reissued and began to gain in popularity throughout the garage scene, including some stunning new album artwork and a new album name, "Zombie". Now is your chance to get a hold of this fantastic piece of history! So, grab your buddies, get a few cases of cerveza and wake up with Los Sleepers! Enjoy!

What a handsome bunch! Los Sleepers
